About Me

Hi! I'm currently a student at UC San Diego, with a residual travel high from studying abroad this past semester in Singapore. Currently embarking a solo Pacific Northwest trip at the end of this month, where I hope I can meet some amazing surfers.

I was raised in Los Angeles and I'm currently working for an arts non-profit that's connected within the entertainment industry. So least to say that I love the arts, whether it's going to a concert or visiting a local museum or gallery. I'm a Computer Science major, but hoping that I can work in the arts or find more creative applications to my coding skills... stay tuned for that adventure when I graduate. I'm also interested in doing graphic design or web design. Bottom line, I'm looking for a balance of left and right brain.

In addition to fine local attractions, I'm hunting for beautiful science museums, libraries, and interactive exhibits around the world. Also, I am obsessed with trying all the most reviewed one-dollar sign restaurants in your area (via Yelp).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I'm feeling a little adventurous!

I studied abroad and traveled quite a bit then, but I still feel like I have more to learn about the world, especially when it comes to meeting locals and making new friends while traveling. In my local communities, many would call me a wildly social butterfly, but I'm still relatively new to traveling.

I've lived in Southern California my entire life, and I'm hoping this Pacific Northwest trip will expand my horizons and give me a good experience to reflect on when it comes to being alone in unfamiliar territory.

Interests

I love dancing. I used to do ballet, jazz, and lyrical in my childhood. In college, I also joined a hip hop dance team. It's definitely my favorite form of exercise and helps me bring back my positive energy when I'm having a rough day.

I'm also in the intermediate phase of becoming a makeup junkie. Maybe it's not every Couchsurfer's cup of tea, but I've been purchasing a lot of lip glosses and highlighters that I can definitely talk about for a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

If you happen to be a passenger in my car, you're going to hear 50% RnB, 25% female pop (think Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, Hailee Steinfeld), and 25% EDM. I'm a huge fan of songs that mix any of those 2 genres together.

My favorite movie is Her. Also, going off the theme of emotional sci-fi that portray themes related to romance and technology, I'm a huge fan of the TV series Black Mirror.

Other TV shows I like: Grey's Anatomy, Bojack Horseman, anything Anthony Bourdain

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: How to code! If you have any sort of website that you manage, I'd be glad to talk through some of the basics of HTML and CSS.
I can also teach Photoshop/graphic design fundamentals.

Learn: How to cook some of your favorite dishes! I know how to cook for myself, but I think learning from somebody who is passionate about the dish makes a huge difference.

Share: Snacks. Huge fan of french fries, chips, and drinks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My technical skills. I'm pretty proficient at creating websites from scratch, and I'm looking for more experience. If you are interested in anything website or graphic design-related, I'd be happy to talk to you and provide any resources I can.
