About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet as many people as possible with a shared interest in experiencing new things with new people.

ABOUT ME

No matter where I am, I'm guaranteed to have a good time as long as there are open-minded, interesting people. I love seeing new places off the beaten path and looking back on time I've spent in new places knowing I did everything I could to make the most of it.

I definitely used to be shy and reserved. I don't think people see it as much nowadays because I've pushed myself to be more outgoing, but it takes a conscious effort for me to initiate conversation or involvement. I think being willing to go outside of my self-defined comfort zone is my most prized accomplishment over the past couple of years.

I'm perfectly content sitting back and 'people watching.' Sometimes I'm too quiet because of this... I'm genuinely interested in observing and learning by example.

I don't believe in the word awkward (for most situations). I think it goes as smoothly as you're willing to think it goes.

I believe in being sincere and honest. I am a very loyal friend and will help a stranger if I think they need it.

I choose the people I invest in very carefully, but I can spend time with just about anyone.

PHILOSOPHY

Some people ask 'why?' and instead I ask 'why not?'

I find that they probably miss out on a lot they are not willing to get to know.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Everything really. I listen to music on 8tracks.com based on my mood more than any genre in particular. That's what music is for right?

Movies: Bridesmaids; Pitch Perfect; Iron Man; Batman; Pride and Prejudice; Star Trek.. and so many more. A comedy, action, documentary, or chick-flick movie can each make for a good show.

Books: A Visit From the Goon Squad; The Help; Man and Superman - GB Shaw; The Hunger Game trilogy; Autobiography of Cupcake Brown; Catcher in the Rye; One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest; The Da Vinci Code; Perks of Being a Wallflower; East of Eden

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just recently saw Horseshoe Bend in Arizona and that was an item off my bucket list. Words will never do the real thing justice.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing experiences is more memorable than anything I can think of. I'd be happy to share a meal, a conversation, or just an umbrella on a rainy day :)

I want to learn as much as I can about how other people live and enjoy their time, and if along the way I learn to be just a little more adventurous, I'd be more than satisfied.

As far as teaching goes, I can't think of anything specific, but that's probably for the best (so its all a surprise). I can surprise a host with a nice meal :) (I love cooking! I make breakfasts and pasta sauce for my roommates back home often.) I love talking about college, work, weekends, and common interests like books, movies, past-times.

I genuinely think everyone has something to offer and talking about the most mundane parts of your day can be fascinating to people from other facets of life.

I sometimes take parts of my life for granted or resent some things I should be thankful for. I believe that learning about others makes us more open minded, accepting, understanding, and appreciative for the parts of our lives we often overlook. I'd hope that exchanging stories and cultures could help remind me what I'm thankful for and teach me how to change the parts of my life that could be improved (and equally enhance the lives of those I exchange with).
