Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up reading fantasy like Tamora Pierce, CS Lewis, and Tolkien, and sci-fi like Nancy Farmer. Now I pretend to be an adult- I like to read popular science about biology (The Beak of the Finch) and political science (Imagined Communities). I'm also trying my brain at Indonesian literature to support my language learning.

I like martial arts movies (Undisputed, Ip Man) and cult classics (Kung Pow, RHPS), as well as historical films about suppressed stories (The Help, Hidden Figures), patriarchy-smashing superhero films and cartoons (Super Woman, Moana), and Miyazaki's anime.

I'm happy to help Indonesian learners with language and to share my experience as a Westerner learning how to live in Indonesia.
