Overview
About Me
I'm Katie! I live in Cincinnati, Ohio USA and I am 30 years old. I'm a registered nurse in the intensive care unit.
I have always been somewhat of an independent traveler, but after staying in a hostel in Guatemala last year, I quickly realized the beauty of travel (and life, really,) lies in the people you meet along the way.
Oops, I didn't mean to sound like an inspirational quote! Haha. It's true, though.
I am silly, curious, outgoing, honest, laid back, sensitive, and (realistically) optimistic. I also appreciate independence, dance, reading, hiking, yoga, language, culture, and cooking. I am vegan.
I am open to the couch surfing experience as it unfolds. Since no two experiences, I'm sure, are alike, feel free to reach out to me and I will do the same. I do have an extra bedroom, a futon, and a couch if hosting schedules are appropriate. I have one cat.
As far as my traveling experiences go, I have been to Costa Rica twice, Puerto Rico on a solo trip, Guatemala, and Iceland. I'm booked for England in March 2017.
Thanks for reading!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am open to both host and travel! I have the space and I want to give people the opportunity to travel for less.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh wow. I am quite a bookworm. My favorite books are:
The Shadow of the Wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
The Kite Runner, by Kaled Hosseini
Unaccustomed Earth, by Jhumpa Lahiri
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, by Carson McCullers
Quiet, by Susan Cain
I like music I can dance to, like Aventura, but I also enjoy acoustic guitar, funk, rap, and even chanting. Oh, and like many others, I think I can sing a great Disney or Broadway tune!
Independent films and documentaries are my loves.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled to Puerto Rico to see my favorite band in concert.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you seek community, I am outgoing and love people. Actually, I get along with almost everyone I meet! While I'm not shy, I do enjoy independence and I feel comfortable keeping myself entertained too. Either works!
I am happy to offer my home in return for any stay I make. As you open your home to me, it's really about the experience YOU are looking for.
I will try to make you laugh; hopefully it works!
