About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to see the world! and meet/host people from all over. I love to hear and learn about different people and what goes on in their lives!
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in rural North NJ. After getting married and having my son at the age of 25, I moved to Dallas, TX and lived there for 13 years. After my divorce, when my mother was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), I moved back to NJ where I have been for almost 10 years now.
I am recently married and we just bought our first home together. My husband, Donovan, is a really cool guy, athletic and charasmatic. He loves meeting people as much as I and although he does not have a profile has enjoyed hosting a occasionally surfing with me.
My son goes to graduate school in Bloomington IN where he studies Organ Performance. He is a dedicated church musician and choir director who plans on dedicating his life to music ministry.
In addition to parenting my amazing son, I have worked many different types of jobs and lived at various economic levels. I have chronic curiosity disorder and always wecome a reason to feed my addiction.
I look forward to hearing about you and your life and adventures!
PHILOSOPHY
Oh my....so much empty space here to write. Let me start by saying that I am a modest person of modest means. I value PEOPLE and EXPERIENCES more than THINGS. Not that I don't enjoy something nice, but I have learned that happiness and dispair are independant of financial means, that your posessions can own you if you value them more than the people in your life.
I don't like the white noise.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Yes. Hosting, travelling, experiencing!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My son & I took "the trip of a lifetime" where we surfed in Europe for 4 weeks. I cannot imagine taking another vacation without couchsurfing!
We have been lucky enough to start hosting and have as much fun hosting as surfing!
Interests
Animals, especially DOGS; cooking; travel; photography and family. I love to road trip and hope to tour the southern route of the US to fufill a lifelong dream (and avoid the cold northeastern weather). I have recently become a friend of Bill W.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love adventure/thriller and mystery novels, the kinds that are an "easy read". Almost anything on the "best seller" list I can pick up and enjoy. In the past I have enjoyed the following authors and more: Stephen King, John Grisham, John Saul, Lee Child, Michael Palmer and Ann Rule. I occasionally read a non fiction biography or self help/nutrition book. I enjoy a variety of movies including comedy, drama and adventure although it is often difficult to sit through the entire film in one sitting.
Music- fair warning.. I am am hopeless child of 70's and 80's pop and classic rock music. I just can't seem to shake it and move on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have ever done or seen has got to be raising my son. To teach and learn from him, to see him grow, to admire his talent and see him mature from an infant into a fine young man! I am now coping with an empty nest and look forward to travelinig locally and abroad to see some of the amazing things, and meet more amazing people that this world has to offer.
The best thrill I have experienced was skydiving over Hawaii!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am truly a "jack of all trades and master of none". I have not been interested or diciplined enough to study formally, but seem to learn things easily when I do them or learn from others. During my adult life, I have been variously successful working as a waitress, printed circuit designer, photographer, project manager, design/draftsperson, sales assistant and jewelry shop owner. I have been financially comfortable, even blessed, and financially strapped at different times in my life. I am facinated with how other's live their lives, their hopes, dreams, economics and values.
I consider myself a good cook and I enjoy cooking until it becomes a repetitive chore. I like to say "I cook for the glory" and love compliments. I enjoy cooking for guests or host given the opportunity. I enjoy digital photography and have even been paid to do it, but I recognize how much more I could learn from others with more experience or intuitively teach someone what I know from my experience.
I have strong opinions about raising children and pets. I will discuss theology with you, but warn that I consider myself Unitarian/Agnostic. I avoid politics as I have a strong conscience and belive that politics conflicts with it.
