ABOUT ME
I'm a person. Person-sized, person-shaped, personable.
Ok, but also - I live and work here in Lusaka, Zambia. I am British but have lived in Africa for most of my life so far, 22 out of 30 years altogether.
I work for a UK health NGO bringing doctors from the UK out to support the medical programmes in Zambia.
I love being in Africa: I love the weather, the people, the beautiful places to travel and just the lifestyle and vibes in general. Things are slow here - yes. Life is not always easy - especially when the water cuts out for two weeks and the electricity shortages mean the freezer is only useful as extra storage space. And there is definitely less available in terms of food, clothes and the latest Ipod-nano-micro-v3.0.
But there is nothing that beats an African sunset - with good friends, a steak (or veggie burger!) on the braai, and a chilled beer to wash it all down with.
PHILOSOPHY
The Beatles - All you need is Love, Love is all you need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd just love to be able to travel and surf, and help others travel and surf!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted my first CS group on Zambian Independence Day - Oct 25th 2010 - auspicious, no?! It was a lovely experience and started my stint of hosting for many different travelers in Zambia, for between 1 night to 6 weeks per person!
I then have experienced couch-surfing on my own travels in Tanzania - all the hosts were wonderful, and I am now back in Zambia and look forward to hosting again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lake Kariba always takes my breath away - the endless blue water, sweet scent of frangi-pangis and night jasmine, light breeze and swaying green palm trees by Carribea bay... It is like waking up inside a postcard. Perfect.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach - Some yoga, vegetarian cooking (especially awesome smoothies with my new blender!), where to travel and stay in Zam/Zim/SA, trade-secret recipe for flu medicine (hint - includes a fair dose of brandy).
Learn - Anything! I love learning about new cultures, languages, food, places to see and dance moves ;)
Share - A bowl of guacamole and chips before going out for cocktails and dancing... Or just a chilled out night chatting on the veranda under the stars.
