About Me
CURRENT MISSION
“Every man's life is a fairy tale written by God's fingers” - Hans Christian Andersen- fairy tale author
ABOUT ME
Even my Italian friends say "Katja talks a lot".
Currently living in Finland but have been living for a while in 9 countries in four continents. Love meeting new people. I cook Italian food. Listen accapella and Hawaian radio station. Live in a tiny house with my daughter in beautiful green area 20 minutes with train from Helsinki. I am happy to host a single traveler. Would love to host more but my house is too small.
Have worked as freelance photographer, currently working as director of photography in TV.
Always into bicking. Just came back from two weeks cycling trip with my daughter in bike trailer at the back of my bike. I do have to admit that I had an electric bike this time ;D
PHILOSOPHY
Favorite Quotations:
"Work without love is slavery" - Mother Teresa-
"Be not afraid of the life of sacrifice. " -Mother Teresa-
"I am not afraid. I was born to do this" - Joan of Arc
If you want to build a ship, don’t summon people to buy wood, prepare tools, distribute jobs, and organize the work, rather teach people the yearning for the wide, boundless ocean.
=Antoine de Saint-Exupéry=
"If it’s a good idea, go ahead and do it. It’s much easier to apologize than it is to get permission." Grace Hopper

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-I was volunteering in Cambodia for 7-months taking care of Celebral palsy children in a Cambodian government run orpahanage, 2007. That was awesom!
-Volunteered in homeless center in New Orleans for 6-weeks , 2004. Great folks!
-Volunteered in Honduras in an iguana station a month in 2002. To save an endangered speaces of the Utila spiny-tailed iguana. Once the egs headged in the incubators we trecked to the other side of the island to release them into the nature.
- I was running a holiday lodge as a manager in Malawi in Africa for 6 months in 2003.
- Volunteered at Red Cross Amsterdam for one and half years 2000-2001, once a week, to help young refugees to use internet. I never heard more touching stories then from those young people how they survived in war zones.
