About Me

Hi, I`m Katya and I live in the most beautiful, but at the same time the most depressive city in Russia - St. Petersburg. I think, this fact determines a lot in my life: beauty and melancholy are two true companions in my life:). As well as rains, grayness, slush and cold!) For this particular reason it’s so nice to leave the city for sunny warm countries!)

It’s difficult to describe myself, I think my friends will do it better, but I think I'm quite sincere, straightforward, often skeptical and critical of many things, that’s why some people consider me a pessimist, but I'm a pure realist). By nature I'm quite introverted person, but it’s not an obstacle to enjoy meeting new people, I even like parties when I’m in the mood :)).
A sense of humor and self-irony are the main qualities I value in people above all. :)

In the end I have to say that my English level is about intermediate, I understand almost everything but speak not so good as I wish💩. So I think you need to know this information:)).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First and foremost, travelling for me is leaving my comfort zone. It means dragging out of a warm bed and a cozy apartment with a cat on my knees and a warm cup of tea on the table. That's why I try to discover new countries through hitchhiking and couch-surfing :). I don’t know anything better than these two ways. Hitchhiking teaches you to believe in yourself, shape the right intention, trust the flow of life, believe in people, trust them and understand foreigners using sign language). Travelling is also a good motivation to open my mouth more often and extract English words which requires some efforts to succeed:))).

I often use CS when I travel but I never hosted and it's the thing that I'm sad about😳. I really wanna host, but I change my places almost every year and not always have opportunity for hosting... For example, now I moved to my parents for a summer(.

Interests

I am a visual person by nature and I go crazy about all kinds of visual arts: painting, photography, design, film, architecture. I work as a photographer and specialise in portraits, although it’s reportage, documentary and street photography that I also love dearly).
