Overview
About Me
I studied Biology and Philosophy in college and both remain strong passions of mine. I am easygoing and positive by nature. I am equal parts independent and social and enjoy spending time with others as well as spending time alone. I really believe in keeping an open mind and allowing new people, places, and things to make an impression. I tend to laugh a lot and enjoy goofy people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am interested in couchsurfing because I like the idea of travel being fluid. Meaning, the most fulfilling trips and experiences for me are the ones that include aspects I did not or could not have planned. This could be something as small as someone recommending a local band to check out or something as big as someone telling me a story that changes the way I think. Often times, for me, engaging with new people in new places is the best part of travelling, but it can be challenging to foster those connections or obtain those personal recommendations. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to provide, at the very least, an opportunity for these interactions to occur.
Interests
I am very into music. I am almost always listening to something new and spend as much time as I can going to concerts. I also spend time in the forest studying fungi (I like to photograph, collect, and identify different species), I also really love whales (I have yet to see one). I am a biologist so everything pertaining to nature is fascinating. I am a community theater junkie and love comedy. I like to write short stories and went through a pretty intense slam poetry phase. I collect records and used books. I love listening to people tell stories. Laughing with new people is a wonderful thing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to New Orleans for a year on a whim. It was the first time I experienced a drastically different culture as a resident and not a visitor. It completely altered the way I experience new places and people.
