ABOUT ME

About me... I was born on a blueberry farm in beautiful Washington State. After living on the farm making mud pies and riding horses, my family moved to an actual island in Puget Sound. I spent the rest of my childhood living on the "Rock" or Whidbey Island as it is known to others. I enjoyed things like riding logs in the sound, building tree forts, playing in streams and being creative. As time passed, I aged and eventually started to enjoy other things such as sneaking out at late hours to meet friends at the "look out" or having crazy wild bonfires on "the point", the BEST place to have a party... oh the memories. After graduating and attending a little bit of community college, I was invited to move to California; the diverse little city of Los Angeles.

I lived in Los Angeles for over two years and had many life changing experiences there; some for which I am grateful and others I hate to remember. Through it all I grew a lot in great ways. I learned a lot of valuable lessons about life and the human race. I also come to realize what it is I want to do in life. L.A.really opened my eyes to the world around me.

While I was in Cali I went Skydiving which had always been a dream of mine... it changed my life! If you ever get a chance you need to go! It is the most liberating thing I think you could ever do, well besides floating in outer space, but that will come in due time.

After living in Beverly HIlls for a while, and helping to open a new restaurant in the heart of the craziness, I decided to move back to the beautiful Northwest. I came back to Washington late December of 2007. I love my friends and my family, and there is nothing that compares to the beauty in the Pacific Northwest. In July of 2008 me and two of my good friends climbed to the top of Mt.Rainer (14,410 ft). I proved to myself that anything is possible so long as you belive in yourself! Live Life thats all there is to it ;-)

Now I have been living in beautiful Lausanne Switzerland for over a year and have been loving it! Making friends from all over the world, experiencing different cultures, learning new languages and absorbing all the world around me has to offer. The adventures and the travels have been amazing. I had always dreamed of coming to Europe but never expected to live here and it has gone beyond all expectations. They say love life and life will love you back and I fully agree! I never want to be afraid to dream my wildest dreams and sink my teeth into my passions, because what else is life for?

PHILOSOPHY

I live life to experience as much as I can, to see the world from every aspect. I live to understand what it is that makes me tick and how the world works. I like to discover the endless possibilities that exist especially if you use your imagination. I like to smile and keep a positive outlook on life no matter what the circumstances are. Its amazing how quickly things can change if you think in a positive light.

I havent participated much yet, but I hope to change that really really soon!! I wish I had a couch to offer other travelers, but I unfortunately live with the family I work for so it is not my couch to offer out... however one day I hope to be in the position to offer my couch :-)

Books: The list is always changing but I love books like Tipping Point, Black Swan, Kofi Annan, Deep Survival, Davinchi Code, Pick me Up, How to Survive in the Woods, and of course Riding Rockets by astronaut Mike Mullane!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have summited Mt.Rainer (14,410 feet 4,392meters). Watching the sunrise as I climbed up the face of the mountain was priceless, so incredibly beautiful! It was a challenge for sure, but worth it in the end as it made me believe in myself and allowed me to see the world from a different perspective! So still and beautiful the world is when seen almost untouched!
