About Me
Hello beautiful people!
My name is Katrin (22). I was born and raised in Germany although my family is russian. I'm currently studying Japanese and economics in university in Duisburg, Germany and will probably graduate from university first semester of 2019. I am planning to leave Germany and move to another country when I finished my studies. In 2016 I went to Japan as an exchange student where I studied and worked for one year. Since going to Japan I became really interested in meeting people from all over the world, traveling around the globe and learning about different cultures, people and languages. I'm an open person and I'd like to consider myself quite adventurous and spontaneous.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I learned about couchsurfing from a friend who's been using this platform for quite some time now. When I traveled to Morocco with this friend we've met some really nice locals through couchsurfing. I love traveling and I love meeting new people from all over the world. So since having made beautiful experciences and having met some lovely people in Morocco by using couchsurfing I've decided to use couchsurfing myself as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most memorable experiences I‘ve made was def living in Japan for one year - climbing up the Mt. Fuji, watching the blooming cherry blossoms, celebrating summer time by watching the fireworks, going to karaoke late at night with my colleagues after work, walking around Tokyo wearing a traditional kimono, staying at a ryokan (traditional japanese hotel) and relaxing in an onsen etc etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook russian cuisine. Although I was born and raised in Germany I don‘t know how to cook any german dishes because I grew up in a russian household cooking russian food only. But I can take you to some restaurants serving german dishes if you like, or share my fav german choco with you :)
Growing up speaking two languages I can teach you both German and Russian if you want to improve your language skills (although I can speak better German than Russian). Because I love studying languages I‘d be more than happy if you‘d teach me some words in your mother tongue.
I would also love to share each others travel stories, hear about your travel experience and about the places you have been to, the activities you‘ve done, the food you‘ve eaten and the people you‘ve met on your journey around the globe.
