Hello! My name is Katrina Kore. I'm majoring in Secondary Education and English and minoring in Spanish at Grand Valley State University. My hobbies include cooking, reading, writing, and swimming. I have two roommates who also attend GVSU and we have a small dog named Piper. She's a sweet heart!

I also just joined Couchsurfing-- I'm looking to travel more and explore more of the country.

Interests

I love to explore and go on spontaneous adventures. I think it's fun to let my inner gypsy out! I'm also a huge fan of cooking-- I'll totally cook for you. I enjoy being outside, I work as a landscaper. I'm a fan of museums and learning more about the world around me. I try to stay in shape swimming and I enjoy playing water polo. During my free time, I volunteer at a local high school as a reading tutor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped conduct free medical clinics in rural Guatemala and managed to successfully manage the intake process without knowing much Spanish. I even learned rudimentary medical Spanish in a couple of days! This ignited my passion for the Spanish language and is a strong reason as to why Spanish is my minor.

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up speaking Latvian, so I can teach you some basic Latvian phrases as well as some drinking phrases (the latter is clearly the most important).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook! I'll cook ya meals for sure. I'm also pretty great at washing dishes. I'm open-minded and always willing to discuss differing thoughts and opinions! I've got a sharp sense of humor as well.
