About Me

Peace Corps Dominican Republic volunteer. Hablo español et un petit peu français. Well-traveled: 36 countries and counting. Amateur rhymer. My anaconda don't want none unless you got puns, hun. Soft spot in my heart for weirdos, punks, and underdogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sister and I love traveling the world together and want to take several long trips across Latin America and Asia, crashing in hostels and using couch surfing. One of our favorite things about traveling is meeting the local travelers community. We love busy days and typically pack our itinerary full of museums, parks, and markets with lots of street food!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Latin American writers, especially the female writers like Isabel Allende and Clarice Lispector. Eduardo Galeano is one of my favorite non-fiction writers and I'm working my way through his trilogy of Latin American history at the moment.

I don't watch to many movies because I tend to prefer reading, but I really love Disney movies and comedies. I cannot do horror films! They make me too scared, hah!

I've gone to a lot of live shows and several music festivals, my favorite being Osheaga in Montreal. I like pretty much every genre of music from EDM to punk rock to indie and alternative-- but my favorite genre is probably Hip-Hop. If I'm going to sing at karaoke, it's almost certainly going to be Kendrick Lamar or Beyonce.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed 6,000 steps straight up a mountain in a sundress and wedges to see a shrine near Takamatsu, Japan. If I didn't understand a runner's high before, I definitely do now. The climb was very worth it, and the shaved ice afterwards never tasted so good.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a good knowledge of US Politics and a base knowledge of world history but I am always looking to learn more, to refine my understanding, and to broaden my knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wine, witty anecdotes, and a whole lot of travel stories from lots of places in the world. Plus, ideally, a mutual love of cats (dogs (or anything fluffy) are good, too).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Uruguay
