About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel to connect with others and to connect with myself.

ABOUT ME

I am a life-long dabbler...in EVERYTHING. I love learning and experiencing new things (which I suppose contributes greatly to my overwhelming sense of wanderlust). When I was a little girl I wanted to grow up to be an artist like my Grandmother. As I grew older, I thought I wanted to be a writer as I seemed to have a general knack for constructing interesting sentences. Then suddenly, I discovered that I could sing. I spent the better part of my high school years singing my lungs out--taking voice lessons, learning Opera and how to pronounce different languages. I decided to go to college to become a professional opera singer. However, after some rather terrible teachers and a personal breakthrough, I figured out that I could not dedicated my life to merely one art--I loved them all too much. So I decided to run off to London to study English literature. Recently, I was in Seattle teaching kids how to draw and animate and learning all about social dancing (blues, fusion, salsa, swing and tango.) All of that could probably be summed up to say, I absolutely LOVE the arts and emotional expression through these mediums. I've just spent 6 months traveling around Bali and India and studied energy healing and various spiritual practices. This has become my new-found passion and I currently run a healing practice.

PHILOSOPHY

No moment is ordinary and even painful ones prove to be some of the most important. Also, there is no reason not to be as playful and wise as a child for the rest of your life. Travel, explore and learn with childish enthusiasm!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is a great question...good job couchsurfer. I am naturally a sincere, genuine and kind person that loves to help when I can. People who get to know me very well know that I can be boisterous, zany, and creative. So that being said, I love to connect, collaborate and create with people. I seem to have a gift for bringing people together despite the fact that sometimes I can be a wee bit shy at first. If you do decide to host me, I'd love to help cook meet new people and hear about your life stories and experiences as well as singing, dancing, doing yoga, talking about the meaning of life etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had an incredible time with a host in Victoria, BC, Canada. I've surfed all throughout Bali and India and have gotten to know some of the most WONDERFUL people as a result. :)

Interests

Singing (both doing and listening to), Theater (attending and participating), Connecting with people--having the type of conversations that remind me of how amazing humans are, Traveling--I know it's a bit obvious given that I'm on this website in the first place but there is simply nothing in the world like finding yourself in a whole new world with new people and foods and languages. My heart beats faster just thinking about it, Nature--the more I am out in the wilds the more connected I feel to myself and the world around me. Dance--I love, love, LOVE the personal expression and freedom that dance holds. It's something that comes so naturally to my body that when there is music present (even in grocery stores) I can't help but bust a move sometimes. Personal growth-- Yes, I am one of those people that reads those books and goes to those workshops. I love the feeling of connecting with myself so that I may offer the world more of my true passion and talents. Spirituality/Meditation--I'm a Reiki Master and Life Coach so yeah...
