CURRENT MISSION

My current mission? Maybe to explore the world and enjoy life while getting to know people from all over the world and sharing with them all the beautiful things I've experienced so far.

ABOUT ME

I guess I'm quite an open-minded, outgoing and friendly person but also a little bit crazy (positively crazy :-)) . I’m 48 but still live the life of a 30-year-old. My boyfriend is 28 and I spend my freetime doing all the things people my age normally don’t do. I love extreme sports, adventurous low budget trips through the world and sometimes just doing daring stuff like crossing the Himalayas solo on my mountainbike or riding through Patagonia and sleeping in the wilderness for several months..
There are many things in life that make me happy: being together with my family and friends, chatting and laughing all night, standing on top of a mountain 'breathing in' the stunning scenery, feeling the wind, water or snow on my cheeks when doing outdoor sports or just having a beer in a bar and talking about adventurous travelling... and dancing on the bar after a couple of drinks ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

Don't blame your surroundings for the life you live and don't waste your time longing for the things you haven't got - just let the tiny things in life make you happy!
And my favourite: young - old - just words! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've spent a lot of time with hosts in England, Scotland, Malta, the USA and Cuba (casa particulares) and I've had some great couchsurfing experience in Austria, too. During my biketrip through Patagonia I stayed with a lot of hosts from Argentina and Chile - an awesome time with awesome people. Well, and now I've just come back from a trip through NZ and Australia - thx so much to all the cool people that hosted us there!! You made this trip special.

Interests

I couldn't live without sports. I love snowboarding, skiing, mountainbiking, hiking, rockclimbing, windsurfing, football.., I love travelling, lying in the sun and reading books and magazines about foreign countries, listening to all different kinds of music and watching weird movies (Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch..).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Into the Wild, Pulp Fiction, Twin Peaks, Django Unchained, Inglorious Bastards... and the best thing after a hard day is an episode of How I Met Your Mother, Californication, Friends or The Mentalist.
Music: The XX, Parov Stelar, Milky Chance, Jack Johnson, Massive Attack, Foals, Coldplay, Eels, U2..
Books: Lonely Planet ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

well, the first thing that comes to my mind is my daughter: not only giving birth to such a beautiful tiny creature, but also seeing what a wonderful person she has become..
... and then there was this mountainbike downhill world cup I took part in - amazing and painful ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach snowboarding, skiing, mountainbiking, rockclimbing, windsurfing,.. even aerobics and bodystyling :-)
On the other hand, I would love to improve my kitesurfing, surfing and Spanish.
