About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore Iceland for a couple weeks, see some arctic nature, and then head off to Italy and eat all the pounds worked off hiking in Iceland
ABOUT ME
I have managed to find a job where I get to travel for a living which is pretty lucky, I think. I would say that I sit on the border of introverted and extroverted although most people who meet me think me extroverted. I certainly try to be a thoughtful person and hopefully friendly, funny, and fun. One friend calls me Deanopedia because I'm full of random info some of which is about as reliable as anything you'd find on the internet. I enjoy getting out and seeing the sights, breathing in the atmosphere, and getting to know the real city/country/countryside. But then, don't we all?
PHILOSOPHY
Life is good if you think it is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I've stayed with a few couch surfers, but I'm quite happy just to meet someone local and really get a non-tourist perspective if that's all. I'm hoping to get home and set up a great place to host and hopefully convince people of the wonders of Saskatchewan.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've mostly just arranged to meet for drinks and/or tours with couch surfers. I'm really not one to go asking a stranger to stay with them, community or not. I'm trying, though...
On most occasions I was invited anyway after getting to know the person better, and I was quite grateful and happy to have some friends in a strange land.
Interests
Well, who doesn't love music, but I'd say it's more of an obsession. I listen to independent music, classical, and even run my favourite musician's website (www.frankblack.net). I'm generally quite interested in the arts and philosophy and love a good discussion on any topic.
I also love to watch a good movie, game of hockey, AFL (Aussie footy), read a great book (I love reading and writing), and do anything active. Outdoors, adventure sports, you name it, I've done it or want to.
