My mission is to completely immerse myself into new cultures and grow as a person. Enjoy my 20's because I only have ten years to be in my twenties! I just want to travel the world one place at a time and have a great time doing it! :) thinking about visiting all 200 something coutries before I die... anyone want to join me for the ride?

ABOUT ME

Hello, My name is Kat! I am a very open minded person looking to see the world and meet amazing people along the way! I am vegan but willing to try most food once :) Some of my best experiences is from using couch surfers and have made life long connections. I absolutely love meeting new people from all over the world and trying new foods that I have never tried. I am such a curious person and love to learn. Since I moved abroad I became very passionate about personal growth. I want to continue growing as a person spiritually and better myself as a person. At the moment some new self improvement goals is to be conversation in three languages by age 25. (This is a lot where I am from ! haha) learn to play the guitar and overcome my fear of heights. I may just jump out of a plane, I think that should do the trick ;) go to at least 30 countries before I am 30 and try hitchhiking for the first time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am on couchsurfing because I genuinely love people! I love when two people from opposite sides of the world can come together and share something so beautiful. stories, food, culture, laughs etc. I live for these moments and is why I am currently a huge couchsurfing advocate. I have only had amazing experiences with Couch surfers. I have met so many great people that I now consider friends and I have many times had repeat visits. my goal is to make connections with people and enjoy the time all together.

this journey started as a child. I spent my childhood staring at pictures in National Geographic magazine. These images of another world were intriguing, awe-inspiring, and introduced me to a world of wonder with an endless amount of unanswered questions. I didn't know what smells or sounds there were; I didn't know what the air felt like - was it thick and heavy or were there ocean breezes? I didn't know what the people looked like as they moved through their daily lives - what gait did they have; how did they talk to each other; what did they want; what did they know about my country? I didn't know what the food tasted like or how it was prepared or what happened during mealtimes and really anytime - what was it like to really live there and what was it like to die there? My thirst to learn more about the people and places in these pictures is wholly unquenchable. While travel has attempted to answer all of these questions, it has only inspired a million more. It's truly a non-stop interactive learning experience with people who are simultaneously like no one you've ever met before and like everyone you've ever met before.

Interests

I love to learn languages even though I am not so good at it. I love to travel and I LOVEEE EATING NEW FOODS. I enjoy dancing, exploring, talking to strangers and putting a smile on their faces :))) Zumba, looking at a map a choosing a random country to go to, Interior decorating, bubble wrap, People watching, lying in the grass in the park and cloud watching and falling asleep, Chick flicks, people that read my profile, faux leather jackets, giving food to people in need, roof top terraces, Putting on clothes when they’re still warm from the dryer, putting my hands in flour... Getting a genuine compliment from a complete stranger, finding forgotten money in my pockets:) vegan cookies and everything else vegan. WMBW

Music, Movies, and Books

my current series obsession is Scandal, burn notice and anything on HGTV. I love all types of music because I feel all music is art and is an expression of someones feelings. I have more of a connection with music I can dance to or cry to. Jazz, latin, r&B reggaeton, Pop, techno, house, top 40, light country, light rock, salsa flamenco, batchata, German bass, Deep house, Trap, drum and bass, Sam Smith (my man ;)) lovey dovey shit. I love reading books in a foreign language, I am currently into comics but this changes on a weekly basis. But not into Manga.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am excited to expand what amazing things I have done but so far an amazing thing I have done, was pack up my all my things from the USA and move half way across the world to Madrid to live for a year abroad not knowing the language or anyone in the country. best decision of my life so far. Also rode on the back of a motorcycle through Lisbon with someone I just met. Passed new years under the stars in the Sahara dessert in Morocco. Learned Spanish. Played with wild monkeys in Gibraltar. learned flamenco in audalucia. Walked park of the camino de Santiago en país vasco. Went paragliding in Bilbao, worked for a party boat company in Ibiza party capital of the world(CRAZYYYY) hitchhiking for the first time in Tunisia, eating a compete dinner in a all blind restaurant. Find two of my soulmates and fall in love :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting people that are different from me culturally but like minded. I enjoy learning about different things around the world. The United States is Very diverse but doesn't compare to going to the actual country and meeting the actual people there :D Speaking their language, eating their food, breathing their air, walking in their shoes.
