Hey there!

My name is Katy and I'm about to get myself lost in different parts of the world. I recently quit my job to a pursue a year of solo travel, backpacking around Asia and Europe.

I'm American Indonesian. I grew up in Jakarta then left to the US for college after high school. I graduated from DigiPen Institute of Technology, a school that was focused on video games. I worked in the games/tech industry for over a year and the claustrophobia of the routine that was my life set in. So here I am!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

To be honest, I'm on Couchsurfing because I'm going to be a very poor traveler :'D. I'm sure I'm going to need a few nights where I can save some money on accommodation.

But from all the anecdotes I've read about Couchsurfing, it seems like it's a great way to meet local people and broaden the kind of experiences you get traveling. I'm all about trying new things at the moment.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Watching scary movies is one of my favorite things to do with my friends. It's so funny and I think brings us closer together. Step Brothers is my go-to comedy which probably indicates the immature kind of humor I'm into.

I love to read and I'm excited to be doing a lot of that during my travels. I love the Harry Potter series, Game of Thrones, and Khaled Hoseinni books. Those are just a few.

I'm always down to listen to all sorts of genres of music. I enjoy chill ambient electronic and fun edm.

I left a life that was extremely comfortable for one that excites me. Also, experiencing the wonder that is Burning Man.

I was known as the artsy kid growing up and through high school. In college, I learned to draw and paint for the entertainment industry so I'd like to think I've got some skillz in the art department. I would absolute looove to teach and share my knowledge with anyone who's interested in learning how to draw.

I'm interested in becoming fluent in Japanese. I'm very interested in a continued eduction in Krav Maga. I left the US before I could take the yellow belt test :(. I've never had so much fun and learned so much during a work out. I also only thought abs came from aliens. Mine are gone now though cause I'm back in Indo and eating my weight in tempe.

But really, the whole point of this trip to try anything and everything.

I wish I could say that I could make you an amazing meal but I'm shite at cooking. I can make a mean dish cleaning though.

I honestly feel like I wont know this answer until I've been hosted a few times.
