I think couchserfing is a better way to traveling because you can see the real life in this countryside, town or city through the life of locals. You can see the local traditions, food, habits, lifestyle. You can share your story and listen histories of others.
Also I think coushserfing is not only a way to find a place for sleeping it is a chance to know another life not touristic.
