Artist, writer, adventurer. I thrive off novelty. I'm fascinated by the stories of people whose experiences differ from my own.

I grew up on a family farm in Western Canada that backed on wilderness, where I gained a love of all things outdoors: canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing. My adult life has been a rollercoaster of extraordinary adventures and bouts of chronic illness.

I am interested in the kind of travel that goes beyond tourism. There's nothing like meeting locals to glean an understanding of a place and its people. Even at home, I'm drawn to adventurers, explorers, the kind of open-minded curiosity which prompts people to step outside their comfort zone. The experiences of others inform my writing and ever-evolving world view.

As a guest, I am respectful, self-sufficient, and flexible re: more or less time spent with hosts. I can offer my conversation and modest cooking skills. Please note that due to a severe allergy, I can't stay with cats.
