About Me
Hello there!
I've lived in Chicago my whole life. My parents are both from Mexico . After losing my younger brother I started traveling frequently as it had become part of my healing journey. I think it is a sign of respect to learn about the history and culture of wherever one is traveling. I like to think of myself as kind and have been described as creative and easy going. I'm up for many different kinds of adventures and activities.
I didn’t think I had to say this but : This is not a dating app! I don’t want to date anyone, I’m not looking to hook up, please don’t try to change my mind, that is extremely inappropriate. If you’re looking for a hook up then go on tinder!! Please stay away if you’re on here to try and pick up girls.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started on Couchsurfing because I planned a trip to Ireland with a friend and was reccommended the site . I also feel like being able to be welcomed in homes of people from the area will be a different, more fulfilling experience than checking in somewhere with a bunch of other tourists. I hope to travel more in the coming years and hope this site will help make that possible by keeping my expenses low. I also want to be able open up my home when I am not traveling and share my culture and knowledge with travelers from around the world. I always welcome advice on how I can be a better host or guest.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too many to name. I have a highly eclectic taste in music, movies, and books.l enjoy science fiction books and movies as well as documentaries and based- on -a -true- story type of things. I enjoy contemporary worldwide cinema and a good documentary . Listen to a lot of music and always have a song for every mood. I love jazz and old school rock and roll (I actually got to be a part of Fats Domino’s second line funeral in New Orleans) and hip-hop (mostly music of my many talented friends). I have a soft spot for reggaeton and enjoy listening to film soundtracks and pay close attention to the soundtrack of a film.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel wise: swam with whale sharks off the coast of Mexico
In general: I’ve been a part of some really great policy changes to make schools more accepting/safe for LGBTQ students in Chicago. For this and other policy advocacy I actually received a 30 under 30 award at 19
