About Me
My name is Katie and I am a pediatric nurse living in Chicago with a roommate and my awesome dog, Oklee. We live in a 4 story secured apartment building with a porch and a large, fenced in yard. Chicago is home to much diversity, and that includes people's ethnicities, ages, occupations, and personalities, as well as several neighborhoods with their own personalities. We have neighborhoods and places that offer different vibes: ethnic, hipster, young/college, professional, EDM, family, etc. Lots of people here enjoy cycling, walking, going out to different concerts and bars; there is a lot of art and thing to do including museums, comedy shows, the aquarium, concerts all the time, great food, and more! I enjoy bike riding, walking my dog and going to live music as often as I can. I enjoy people and things that make me laugh, I'm a very positive person, I'm polite and I have a sense of adventure that won't go away anytime soon! I hope with more experience as a registered nurse to begin travel nursing, which is where I'm paid to travel to a destination of my choice and work for 6-13 week assignments ( what a dream! my two favorite things in one!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a big traveler, and with a 3 nights/week schedule I try to take advantage of long stretches of time off by traveling. This year, I have been to Ecuador, Toronto, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and planning trips to Austin and Denver in December. I have been to many states and a few countries, and I plan on traveling much more!

Music, Movies, and Books
Book- A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown
Movie- A Beautiful Life
Music- Way too much favorite music, but I'm a classic rock, rock and metal fan. Tool, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd are a good top 3.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm.. Not sure what to put here, but I'm definitely proud of being a nurse. To have the ability to care for and save children's lives is an amazing thing that I've worked hard for. I am challenged to critically think every single night I work- it keeps be on my toes and reminds me to always be humble. I think the most amazing thing I've done is bringing a little girl back to life with pediatric advanced life support and doing CPR for 3 hours. To have that knowledge, ability and teamwork ability is a combination of skills I'm incredibly thankful for.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I rarely take showers without singing loudly, but I promise to shower quietly in your home :). I'm polite, self-sufficient, easy-going and I love meeting new people! I'd be thankful to you for letting me stay, and I come bearing wine, snacks, toilet paper or whatever ya need. I'd be respectful to your space, time and home. Thanks for considering me!
Countries I’ve Visited
