About Me

Hey there!

I have found that visiting different places and getting to know people who have totally different backgrounds are an integral part of growth and they make you a happier, more understanding person. Wanderlust taught me that people are the same everywhere; that there are no wrong words, moments or places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to join in order to experience another, more free and spontaneous way of traveling. I feel I can no longer stay in one place and more importantly - I can't go without the constant rhythm of new amazing acquaintances.

Music, Movies, and Books

Autors I love:
Hermann Hesse, J.D. Salinger, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Gabriel García Márquez, Aldous Huxley, Milan Kundera, Haruki Murakami, Erich Maria Remarque and many more.

Autors I don't love:
Albert Camus and many more (but mostly Albert Camus).

My page on Goodreads (updated approximately twice a year): https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/59707343-katya

Music:
I love that my music taste has been shifting enormously over the years. I guess rich and diverse music culture comes with experience and different mental and emotional stages. At certain moments in the past couple of years the following artists have been particularly important to me: Alt J, Elsiane, Archive, Second Person... I could never live in a world without RHCP, The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Florence Welch...
I am currently floating on a quiet chill wave. The music festivals that I've been to turned out to be some of the best moments in my life so far.

Movies:
I never grew a true passion for cinema and to this day have great gaps, I still haven't seen some of the most well-known films in the world and I'm generally changing that very slowly.
I like movies like Amelie, Moonrise Kingdom, Forrest Gump, Into the Wild, the adaptation of Eugene Onegin with Ralph Fiennes and so on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Found out (approximately) how I'd like to spend my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be more than happy to help you perfect your language skills in any of the languages that I use.
Would like to share my traveling experience, but would really love to hear about yours!

I guess everyone we meet knows something, that we don't know, so I'm not looking to find a particular type of knowledge, I'm just open to whatever the day brings.
I would however appreciate it, if someone out there would like to teach me how to cook a meal or two, that's typical for their culture :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Curiosity.
Warm and friendly attitude.
Respect for all different human beings and for their choices.

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine
