I am an opened minded, realistic optimist looking to explore the world and the people in it. I save my money for trips and don't buy too many actual goods. I believe in community on many levels and want to participate in conversations and learning with many kinds of people. I love a good wine/beer as much as I love tea.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people, and am possibly opened to hosting, though I'm really busy so it would have to work out well with what's already on my plate. Couch surfing matches my personality and desires to travel and explore the world with others, while immersing myself totally in the place I'm visiting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled throughout North and South America as well as Western Europe and I have stayed with couchsurfing hosts before. I used to have their reviews on my profile, but I think they shut down my old profile since I didn't touch it for several years. I love getting to know the REAL people in the place I'm staying as well as get the insider story on the place and people and couch surfing is one of the best ways to do that.

Interests

I love exploring the historic centers and places within cities, then getting out and doing something wild and crazy in the countryside. I spend a lot of weekends camping, hiking and taking road trips. On weeknights I read, write (working on a book), quilt, sample fine wines and good food, drink beers with friends and spend time with the people I love. Community and connections to those around me wherever I am is very important to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? The most recent is when I climbed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in July 2013. Once-in-a-life-time amazing.
