Hi there! My name is Kathleen Shields. I learned about couch surfing from several friends who do it and thought I'd give it a shot.

Interests

I am a nurse by profession and am currently in nursing school working on my masters! Last semester and I will be able to start teaching the next generation of nurses!

Before nursing school I was a long distance runner and completed many half and full marathons. Unfortunately I don't have as much time to run (and my knees have started bothering me) but I do try to fit in spin classes as often as I can. I enjoy rock climbing (though it's been a while!), kayaking, reading, knitting, movies, music, baking, occasionally cross stitch and crochet.

I got married in 2015 and am still enjoying bliss! At some point my husband and I will begin hosting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunset/Sunrise in Jamaica; finished several 1/2 marathons and 2 fulls; had a spinal cord patient squeeze my hands with tears in his eyes

Teach, Learn, Share

I love baking and have lately been on a bread kick. I'd love to teach others about making bread. I also love knitting. My mom taught me both of these skills and I would love to pass them to others!

I'm also an avid knitter and would love to teach this skill!
