About Me

CURRENT MISSION :
After two years of mentally broken, I am now on a mission to travel and volunteer for a couple of months to cure my mental health and make the most of my life.

ABOUT :
I am a pretty average guy who likes to chat and listen to personal experiences. A typical Burmese student who travels with not much cash in hand but with a passion to explore the culture and a big heart to listen. I have my own tent and sleeping mattress, thus, I am more into connecting with people rather than an accommodation to crash. Nonetheless, I would appreciate it if you could offer me a couch. :)

I have studied at the Aerospace Engineering University for over 4 years until the pandemic hit the country. Once it reached, it halted my education, and the military coup exacerbated the problems. Now it has been over 2.5 years since I was out of school doing nothing and being jobless.

During these years, my family business was shut down, my mom passed away, and five days later, the military coup happened and now my region is in-between conflicts. A truly sad story, not worth mentioning. But, this is a story of a life that could not be erased.

PHILOSOPHY :
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Have a big heart to listen to people, share stories and make memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing back in Dec 2018 just for the purpose of practising English, but after some time, I realised that it is more than practising English, it is about cultural exchange, understanding, and helping each other.

I have noted down some couchsurfing stories that changed my perspectives on diversity and religion. The whole hosting experience was truly eye-opening.

Interests

Kaung is interested in exploring different means of ventures.

  • cultural exchange

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, there is neither favorite nor hated for me. Everything depends on the mood. I prefer Movies, Video Lessons, and Youtube to Books. It is boring to read a book, but it depends on the mood again :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I challenged myself on how many days I could live without showering in the middle of summer. The result amazed me that I could stay unshowered for one month.

The challenge may sound silly doing when I was living with a branch of people, but I am proud of it and feel satisfied whenever I think of it. No worries, I will make sure to take a bath during my travel :)

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH | LEARN | SHARE :

I am open to all types of discussions ranging from politics and economics to psychology. I consider everything to be correlated in one way or another. Try to change my mind on open discussion ;)

Please teach me travel tips and the local language if you have time. I want myself to be immersed in the culture of the local community throughout my travel across the country. Do not want to feel different in the eyes of local people. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my groovy personality and cool stories. I have been to a poppy plantation controlled by a former militia group and a foreign country without any plans. The military coup issue would also be an additional interesting story that you may want to hear. So, get ready to listen and get bored :-)

I have pretty much experience in youth empowerment activities and research projects as well. If you are teaching a class or organising a project, I am willing to help you out.
