Overview
About Me
A recent grad who returned from a year in Cape Town, now living in denial about being back home. So I turn to couchsurfing as a means of travel and friendship.
I love to meet new people even if I am bad at it. I grew up in Southern California and have been told that I'm "interesting." I really hope that's not a bad thing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard such good things from friends, so I thought I would give this a try! I love to travel but due to budget and financial means, can rarely do so. Hopefully this will be a way of doing so and one day I hope to offer up my couch as well!
Interests
Languages and cultures. I'm a stereotypical linguistics major who brings shame to the community because I actually don't mind the question "How many languages do you speak?" I will ask you everything there is to ask about your heritage because I am honestly fascinated by how different people can be while being exactly the same.
Nature is a preferred setting. Get me outdoors and I love to run around and splash in the ocean. I must warn you: if I see a dog, I will instantly become obsessed and go on a mission to play with it.
Other than that, music is a key passion of mine. I have played piano for most of my life, struggle constantly to learn the guitar, and love to listen to people play for me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to have a running list of these, but lately that's been less of a trend in my life.
As far as movies go, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" holds a place in my heart, and I am a sucker for animated movies (I watch "How to Train Your Dragon 1/2" weekly). However, I am interested in watching most movies as long as we can also rip on them a little bit. You're more likely to find me binge-watching a TV show as background noise while working, where "Arrested Development" is a contender for my favorite.
Books and music are far more eclectic. Anything from classical to hip hop, minus some EDM and country. And yes, this is describing books, too.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to write your name in Persian. Impress all your friends by showing them a bunch of pretty squiggles!
We can also talk music, languages in general, and share fun stories.
