About Me

I am a non-smoker. I drink a beer once in a blue moon, but only one. I do no other drugs, do not really go out. I love the free music the city provides. I have my profile from Brisbane, however I just flew here from the US a month ago. I am now seeking a visa here, and am permanently here for the time being. I have been granted a working bridging visa which kicks in April 11. Until then, I need to find accommodation. I have money, but will need it to get a place so I can work and get on my feet. I have 8 weeks to fill in. I have to wait for my tourist visa to expire until I can work. I do not want to get the expense of an apartment (with the bond, etc...) until I find a permanent job. I am 51, no kids, and no husband. I love Australia. I love the outdoor lifestyle. I love the opportunities to succeed here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I have travelled before and know that it is a great experience to share stories of your travels with others who are passionate about learning about each others culture, life experiences and to share cooking and cleaning duties.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived, still doing it daily

Teach, Learn, Share

how to fry an egg on an iron
how to make oatmeal or spaghetti overnight when you have no stove (soak in coconut milk for the oatmeal or in tap hot water for the spaghetti)
how to wash your clothes the stone and bar soap way, and hang on a line
how to make stew and fresh bread over a campfire
how to pitch a tent in the dark by feel
little survival hacks I have learned along the way to keep dry, cool, warm, alive

What I Can Share with Hosts

My hands - foot, head/neck or hand massages - gardening, cooking and/or cleaning

My smile and my love

My love of Brisbane. I know the fun and cool things to do about the city and would love to share this beautiful city with you.
