About Me

I am a relaxed, polite, and open-minded guy. I am unpretentious and I get along with almost all kind of characters as long as they are respectful, environmentally conscious and, and not close-minded. I am very excited to do new things I have never done before, to learn about subjects and languages I lack knowledge, and to create worthful experiences with people. I studied the last three years in The Hague, Netherlands, and worked some months in Moldova. Life is short and limited and traveling is an elementary part to get to know the world and bond with people from other countries. I am a great cook and worked as a cook's assistant and chef replacement. To me, a positive and relaxed attitude is an essential life philosophy to strive for a satisfying life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far I have never done any couch surfing, so I am quite excited. However, I am really sure it will be a memorable and beautiful experience! I am down for any adventure or activity and I find pleasure in all kind of things be it hiking, sports, have a good talk about life, share a drink or just sit silently next to each other and enjoy the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Classic Rock, French Trap (especially PNL), Electro, Pink Floyd, Daryl Hall and John Oates,

Movies/Shows: Sopranos is with no doubt the best show ever made.

Books: Books on Politics, Culture, and History, especially on Russia/Eurasia

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in Moldova and got to know two guys and we traveled with an old Mashrutka to Transnistria, an autonomous region which is occupied by Russian "peacekeeping" troops and the Mashrutka's engine broke down on the border and we had to push it past Russian tanks and heavingly armed Russian soldiers who starred at us (they were rather amused than angry).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English and German, I can cook quite well. Beyond this, I hope that I can "teach" or rather exchange my experiences and knowledge with other people to leave a small footprint in someone's life. The same aspect I hope to learn from anyone else. Additionally I always hope that someone can teach me anything I did not know or could not do before.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Despite material things, I am more than willing to share and to invite other people for a drink or coffee to express my appreciation that they are willing to spend time with me. However, to me it is more important that I can share an activity I do with other people to create some lasting memories and potentially friendships that last over time. I am also a hard working and tidy guy, so I am more than willing to work, clean, or support a host wherever I can.
