ABOUT ME

Looking to move my house from US to Europe. Like to walk cities to get a feel of how I could have lived there.
Like to meet and converse with new people, preferably on deep matters, though manage to find interest in most.

PHILOSOPHY

Most of all by far I value human interaction. Consider life is too short to waste it on gaining the material things. I've been lucky enough to figure out in early years, what I need and try to lead a simple lifestyle to keep myself free for what I want.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Provide a room in my house in Atlanta, GA.
Have not responded to any request because I have not gotten any since I´ve created my profile.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since 2003 had provided a room in Atlanta, GA for passers by to stay while in town. Enjoyed meeting them and discuss their travel experiences (being unable to travel myself at the time), meeting their friends, reading poetry out loud...
Started to surf myself in October last year. So far stayed in Cologne, Germany, several places in England and Norway - happy to provide references.
People find me easy-going, helpful and interesting to talk to on various topics. As a result often end up staying for much longer then originally planed (so I nearly run out of my visa ;-().

Guideline: it keeps you thinking for some time way after you finish it. Classic literature/music usually does the trick.

Most of all though Russian Drama Theatre is my addiction.

I prefer to make people feel comfortable and free to offer activities (if any), so they do not feel they have to entertain me in return for my company or accommodations. I never anticipate it to click (though it does so far every time) - I look at it as just an opportunity to meet more non-ordinary people to increase probability of interesting interactions. My realization getting older is that one might not have time to experience everything. Getting intimately familiar with experiences of others could be a desired affordable replacement (like hosting to me is the second best thing to travel).
