My name is Kaya, I’m from Oxford, England. I’m 18 years old and am taking a gap year to explore new parts of the world.
I am very fortunate to have grown up travelling, as both of my parents travel for work. I grew up living in Oxford, Ghana, and New York and travelling to many other places on a shorter-term basis.
Because of this, I love exploring new cultures and meeting new people, and I am a very laid-back person. I try to be as culturally sensitive as I can when I travel and would consider myself a relatively experienced traveller despite my age.
I have had a few different part-time jobs, including catering, and I am currently employed as a research assistant researching coral reef ecology.

I would love to meet people and be immersed in local life and culture while travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer, I went on my first solo backpacking trip in India and had an amazing time exploring the country. While I was there, I also went bungee jumping for the first time.
