ABOUT ME
Well, at the moment I am unemployed and am having the best times of my life. I spend my days enjoying life and making great memories with friends and family. I was in the Navy for six years and got out last November, and have since been taking full advantage of my freedom (and the money I managed to save while in). I've been doing tons of fun stuff and visiting friends around the country. I moved back home to Vancouver, WA, and love being near my family again, as they are amazing.
PHILOSOPHY
The point of life is to be happy, and so I spend my days in pursuit of such, and encourage others around me to do the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, I've been to several meetups, and am a regular with the Portland trivia group. I just had my first couch surfing experience, and I can't wait to do it again!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with a fabulous couple in Denver, who had great suggestions for local activities, and were amazingly fun to hang out with!
I would love to host if the opportunity arises.
Interests
Oh man, do I enjoy a lot of things. I spend the majority of my time doing the same things as so many other people: I read, play videogames, watch movies, and hang out with my friends. I love to travel as well, and am perpetually looking for travel buddies or sweet destinations (for not so many dollars).

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading immensely. Most often I read science fiction or fantasy, but I'm up for most genres as long as the book comes with a solid recommendation. I never read the back of a book, and instead rely on friends and family (or a love of a particular author) in order to choose my next read.
Similar to my book selection method, I most often turn to people I know to suggest good movies. I enjoy many types of movies, as long as they are entertaining or thoughtful.
I listen mostly to mainstream pop and rock, or eighties pop, or nineties alternative. Or country, or a good soul-baring ballad. Often I listen to classical piano for sleeping. I guess I'll just say that I'm open-minded.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While visiting Arches Natl Park with a friend, I passed a father and son taking in the gorgeous landscape together. As I walked by, this five year old says to his dad with a sigh, "It just doesn't get any better than this."
