I am coachsurfing with my bestfriend cara. We are 21 & 22 from east of England. We have been exploring the world since October 2017 to learn about different communities and cultures. You will see in our countries visited that the list is growing long.
We are both former senior bank staff and loved working within finance! We quit our jobs to travel as this is a passion we share. We always felt that if we didn’t travel now while we have good health and money to do so, we may never have another opportunity and if it turns out we do then I would redo it all again in a heartbeat.
Cara has 2 German Shepard dogs, a cat and a younger brother called Lorenzo as half of her family are Italian (she’s obsessed with pasta).
Kayla has 2 sisters... she’s the middle child and grew up in Scotland and is obsessed with food in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking to explore the world and meet new people, we have found the experience a lot more enjoyable having company to share it with and also to learn from. We have loved staying at host houses so far as it is a home away from home.
It is lovely to learn anything from facts about the area to learning how to cook someone’s signature dish.
We would love to learn how to cook as food has been a massive part of our journey and is a passion we share.
We are interested in language and love to even pick up words and phrases as surprisingly it comes in handy in the strangest circumstances.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have hiked up a section of the Great Wall of China which was the most breathtaking view and a challenging hike. This was amazing for us as we do not get this type of opportunity in the region we are from in England.

We also had an amazing experience volunteering in a Sikh kitchen in northern India where we got to help the homeless and starving by cooking to feed them and help clean up after. This was one of our favourite experiences by far.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are both qualified in banking and finance to a high level so if this is any help to anyone who needs help getting on track for a financial goal we are more than capable to help.

We have lots of experience in travel as a whole as we have visited so many countries now we can always help if anyone is planning a trip and needs tips or advice.

We are qualified to A Level degrees and are happy to help with any younger children currently still studying that could use support.

Cara studied textiles and can sew and design clothing if that is something someone is looking to learn about or needs any help with.

We are more than happy to do jobs for people as we have previously done cleaning, cooking and general housework.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share our experience, knowledge and bubbly presence. We are both polite and respectful which I find goes a long way when staying with someone you have never met before. We can adjust to anyone’s lifestyle and respect anyone’s way of living for example we are not vegans or vegetarians but we can live this way if it is someone’s wish in their home.

We are happy to share stories and recipes (these are limited as we both have been learning more authentic recipes whilst travelling but we will always give our best shot).

We can share how we have travelled on a budget and if there is somewhere you are looking to go I am confident there are places we can recommend to you.

We are more than happy to cook you dinner or meals if you’re working for you to come home to as we know how nice it is!
