I'm a student in university studying geography. I love school and have a burning passion for learning. Recently I have decided, although I enjoy school, learning through travelling and real life experiences is more fun and gives a different kind of knowledge. I really like couchsurfing because it provides the opportunity to get a better perspective on the places I'm visiting. I look forward to meeting fellow surfers; there seems to be some really inspiring people!

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently living in Valparaíso, Chile for the year. Studying at PUCV to learn Spanish mainly, that's the goal of this year. As well as to see as much of the country and South America as I can while I'm down here. If anyone has any recommendations or wants to meet up in Valpo get at me! Also I have been indoor climbing plenty and am looking to expand to outdoors if anyone is interested in that!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up for Couchsurfing so I could truly experience any and all places I visit and to meet wonderful and new people! All you surfers are such inspirations and I look forward to meeting many of you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

I am super green on this couchsurfing adventure. I have only couchsurfed once but it was my favorite experience of the trip! I really enjoy meeting new people and going out and exploring. When I return to home (December) I would love to gain some hosting experience in Calgary and show you all how interesting Cow Town can be.

Interests

Where to start with this one... There are so many things that peak my interest. I try to get out and hike, camp and run in the summer time here in Calgary. I am currently practising learning to speak fluently with my cat, Max, and I've gotten good, I know 35 different meows. I swear I'm not a crazy cat lady... Or am I?? I love to read fiction mostly, also poetry. I enjoy learning about different religions and cultures. I have a passion for food. Not cooking it just eating it. Being in the service industry I have become a beer and wine fanatic and here in Canada, we have great wineries and phenomenal craft breweries. Which is awesome for me and anyone else looking for some great beer and wine!

Music, Movies, and Books

Netflix is an addiction, that happily admit I might have but currently I am trying to overcome.

My taste in music is very broad, but it starts with a lot of Country music. Problem of growing up in Alberta. Some favourite artists of mine are: Kacey Musgraves, Kaleo, Elle King, Alan Jackson, Cat Stevens (his music soothes my soul), Vance Joy, Zac Brown Band and about a million others.

My favourite author ever is Dr. Seuss. I grew up on that stuff and I think that all of his books are amazing because they rhyme, he created his own words and they have a deeper meaning in life as well I feel. His book 'Oh the places you'll go' is my all time favourite. The Harry Potter series comes in at a close second.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have flown to the Moon and setup the first colony there with myself and my cat, Max. It was quite lonely up there with just the two of us, so I decided it was time to come back down to Earth and meet some new people and travel to amazing places on this Earth. I must say, you earthlings are gems!
