ABOUT ME

Hello there, I am Kaylee - a spicy ginger that loves to laugh and learn new things! I am a fitness junkie, dance lover and a queen in the kitchen. I currently sling smoothies and fresh juices at a local juice bar in Austin. I recently completed my studies of psychology and theatre at a small university in my hometown of Austin, TX, but don't quite have a thought on what my future will be. I just try to live one day at a time, 'cause that's all we got!

I am proud to call myself an Austinite. Austin is an amazing city and I feel quite lucky to have been born and raised here. We are the "live music capital" and host tons of musicians every night! It's a lovely, laid-back, liberal city with tons of fun things to do, great food, great people, and great vibes. If you're ever in town, don't hesitate to message me - I would love to show you around.

A few summers ago I studied near Hamburg, Germany, trying to learn German to communicate better with some of my friends there. I had never stepped foot out of America before then and it completely changed my life. Since then I have gotten a chance to experience other parts of the world, but my journey has just begun! I am fortunate to have visited Ecuador, biked northern Europe, explored South East Asia, and road tripped through the US.

I am currently on a six month trip around Europe and Asia where I hope to continue making many wonderful Couchsurfing memories. Perhaps our paths will cross? :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with my amazing mom and precious kitty in a cozy house in the heart of Austin. Surfing here is only possible on holidays and some weekends due to an in-home business, but I would love to have you over, swap stories, or show you around the city!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of my favorite things in life. I can find something I like in every genre of music, but my favorite is rock - especially 90s, blues, and folk. Pixies, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Collective Soul, Glass Animals, Stone Temple Pilots, the Sonics, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Edie Brickell are all among my favorite artists. I love being introduced to new music from anywhere and everywhere. I am currently jamming traditional Turkish music right now after being introduced by my lovely host in Istanbul, so beautiful and lilting!
