About Me

Kia ora! I'm Kaylie. I love travelling (as I'm sure everyone on here does in some sense!) Currently on my third big trip since finishing high school.

I love the people-meeting and time-warping aspects of travelling - I feel like I get so much more out of one day!

I've been called bubbly, chatty, outgoing, confident and friendly and I hope I'm all of those things.

I aim to do something exciting everyday whether small or large. My current year's goal is to do one 'mini-adventure' every week for the year!

I love talking, often about New Zealand when I'm away from home, and about my travels when I'm not :)

I really want to start an environmental education centre back in New Zealand and have been working to gain skills that could be helpful for this - such as recently doing a four-week natural building (straw bale, cob, hemp crete etc) course

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way for travellers to meet people that are living in the areas they are travelling in. Travelling via hostels etc mainly allows travellers to meet other travellers - which is great! - but I love the extra insight I get into a place by talking with and staying with people who live where I am travelling.

I last used couchsurfing on my first big overseas trip in 2013 and had a mixture of good and not-so-good experiences. I'd like to get back into it and aim for the better experiences this time!
