Hello my name is Kaylyn!

I’m an American traveling from Reno, Nevada. I’ve been in Stralia for 3 months living and working in Sydney with my best friend. I have been thoroughly enjoying my adventures here, the city life, and all the wonderful people i’ve met. Soon I’ll be heading on a bikepacking trip south down the east coast and slowly make my way towards Melbourne. I hope to camp and couchsurf my way in order to see as much as possible, challenge myself, and meet and exchange stories with people i would not have otherwise met <3

I’ve been using couchsurf since i studied abroad in Japan in 2012 :)

In my spare time I enjoy hiking and camping, getting lost in the city, cooking and attempting new recipes, hula hoop, bike, and enjoying a good beer with friends. I work as an archaeologist doing fieldwork and love getting lost in nature, and looking at cool geological features.

I hope youre a friendly person or family who enjoys trading stories and in exchange i am always willing to run down to the bottle shop to grab some beers or soda to share :D . I’m a clean, easy going person who is keen to learn about Australia, and all the funky Aussie slang

During the pandemic and lockdown I hiked the 170 mile (273 Km) Tahoe Rim Trail that goes around the famous Lake Tahoe. It has inspired me to do more thru hikes. Backpacking has since become one of my greatest passions
