About Me

I am currently traveling again! :D

CURRENT MISSION

First is God and helping those in need around the world. The second mission is to meet people and form lifelong friendships. Third is to live life now and not later!

ABOUT ME

I am a computer programmer and a special education teacher with a thirst for the world! I am a unique person seeking to learn from the others. I may be a little eccentric at times, but hey, it's best to live life now while we can!

PHILOSOPHY

It is better to take a risk and do the wrong thing than it is to fail to do that right thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have actually been away for a little while, living the "normal" life, but I have now fallen back into traveling. In the past I have gotten some of my friends into Couch Surfing, and have met locals and travelers alike.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I originally signed up for Couch Surfing in need of a place to stay. It was a emergency kind of situation, but everything worked out thanks to other CS members!

From that experience I have learned that CS is so much more that that, and have spent the years to follow helping other CSers with local information, recruiting new people into CS, and meeting CSers from around the world. My cry of need years ago has lead to countless, priceless memories with still many more to come!

Interests

Aside from traveling? Outdoors, stories, bicycling, culture, adventure....and anything that is a new experience! But number one is going to space someday.
When you get down to it, though, my favorite thing in the world is people. So let's meet up sometime soon!

  • culture
  • anime
  • traveling
  • socializing
  • outdoor activities
  • swimming
  • programming

Music, Movies, and Books

For fun, I decided to include the things I like both now as well as when I was young :)

Interstellar, Gravity, Snowpiercer, August Rush, Miyazaki, Frank Sinatra, 127 Hours, Robin and the 7 Hoods, Casting Crowns, Rocky, Secret (Taiwanese), Invisible Children, Linkin Park, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most important thing to me in life is other people. The most amazing thing I have seen and done is connecting with others. Being able to do this on a worldwide scale, as well as with students with special needs in my job as a special education teacher, has truly define who I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my experiences in El Salvador, South Korea, North Korea (via a UN approved tour to the boarder), and Japan. In Japan I have lived in both Honshu (Tokyo area) and Shikoku (Kagawa). As for Korea I have traveled around a large amount of the country, but lived in Seoul. 2 very, very different countries! And North Korea....I 'entered' the country on a military approved tour at the DMZ. Though the UN military was escorting me, it was impossible to miss the tensions between the two sides as well as why people call it the most dangerous place in the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Like all travelers, I can tell stories of some of the highlights of my life/travels. I am also clean, quiet, and help out each chance I can. Any needs my hosts' schedule has will immediately becomes my schedule, such as lights out time or when to be out the door the next morning.

Also, being a programmer, if you have any technical questions or such, I can help out! Whether it be questions about your cell phone, why one of your electronics have become slow over the years, what kind of computer to buy, or even if you want to have a better and cheaper computer built, I will have your back!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bahamas, Cambodia, Canada, El Salvador, Honduras, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin (French part), Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Japan, Laos, South Korea, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
