About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do whatever I want to do, and be the best at it

ABOUT ME

Meet Marta, 26 year old girl from Belgrade,Serbia. I finished my BSc in Goettingen, Germany, lived in Berlin for two years, and in Belgrade for two years.

Im a firm believer in live and let live policy - Im ok with anything and everything as long as it doesnt harm other people. The only thing I cant stand are bigoted, oppresive cruel people who look down on others. So, in most cases if conflict arises, it will not be because i have a problem with someone, but rather because said person has a problem with me.

I study science, so obviously I have a somewhat logical and pragmatical mind, but at the same time I like to think fairly creative - at least for somebody not actively pursuing the arts. Im more of a active observer of art, so to speak.
I can come across as cynical sometimes, mostly because of the dry sense of humor, but I can be incredibly childish as well - which is reflected for example in my endless love for cartoons. So that makes for an odd mix, I have to admit.
Books are a great passion of mine - be it ancient greek philosophy, Dostoyevsky, Oscar Wilde, Terry Pratchett or Tolkien.
Obviously I love traveling and meeting new people, but at the same time, I don't really like so-called "mainstream" traveling - going to places and visiting every single tourist attraction there is. When I travel, I love meeting the local people and trying to blend in the atmosphere of the city.

PHILOSOPHY

It would be arrogant and impertinent of me to say that I have a life philosophy at 26 years of age. I dont know what Im going to eat for dinner, much less my life philosophy.
That being said, I am very interested in that topic. Currently, I'm at the life stage when there are a multitude of philosophies I agree with in part, but none completely.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I guess I like meeting new people, and traveling, definitely hope to travel more in the future. As such, the best way I think to travel is to meet locals and experience the town through their eyes.
