ABOUT ME

Gertrude Stein once said "America is my country and Paris is my hometown." This statement rings very true for me. I was born and raised in Connecticut, very near New York but after studying abroad in Paris, the city quickly became a second home for me. If given the option, I would drop everything to go there.

I'm a recent university grad. ('10) and currently living and working in Manhattan. I live with two of my friends from Lehigh in a tiny apartment on the upper west, paying astronomically high rent for the space, but loving every minute of it. I now realize why people spend their entire lives on this tiny, crowded, dirty, fast-paced, sometimes unwelcoming city...because this city is everything.

I do not currently have a couch to offer, but I look forward to traveling and meeting people.

Interests

Traveling, meeting people, having adventures, falling asleep to the sound of rain on my window, going to the opera, staying out too late, snowball fights and sledding after the first snow, listening to music, cooking and baking, warm summer days on the beach, watching the seasons change (especially spring and also watching the leaves change in the fall) and thunderstorms.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music, well almost all. everything from country to dubstep, from hiphop to classic rock, from top 20 to opera. The Beatles are my favorite as I grew up with them. But also currently topping the list are The Black Keys, and Johnny Cash

My taste in movies is similar to my taste in music-very eclectic. I adore old movies (Harvey, Casablanca, An Affair to Remember, and Singin' in the Rain are some of my favorites--not to mention anything with audrey hepburn, james stewart or Marilyn Monroe)I also grew up watching the Marx Brothers and the Beatles movies.

I wish i had the time to read more cause I really enjoy the escape it provides. Some of my favorites are Pride and Prejudice, On the Road, Much Ado About Nothing, The Hobbit, God Bless You Mr. Rosewater, Great Gatsby...I'm currently indulging in the Hunger Games trilogy and George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones books.
