About Me

Hey Guys! I'm Kevin, 26, and I'm about to travel the world in quest of my true calling MY STORY My story began just recently when I quit my job as a digital sales manager for a big logistics company. I was missing a feeling of passion, a feeling that drags me out of my bed on Monday mornings and that keeps attracting creative thoughts - it simply felt not right. Inspired by a truly special encounter on one of my travels through South East Asia, I wanted to start my own social business on the side, which was extremely fulfilling until I questioned the time and the place I was determined to launch it within. This is when I decided to pause everything - my career as well as my startup - and together with my girlfriend Manja (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/manja_h) I freed myself from all dependencies and strings back home in order to explore the world for an unlimited amount of time. We wanted to be as free as we've never been before, open for anything along the way, saying yes to stuff we normally would say no to and meeting outstanding people to get inspired by - just seeing where the wind takes us :) MY PERSONALITY So far I've discovered two sides of my personality: one is a funny/crazy/awkward/adventurous/food-loving me you can be extremely silly with and the other one is a curious, socially-oriented business graduate me you can have some deep chats on world affairs, start up ideas and a bottle of wine (or 2) with. I'm German on paper but not so much in my heart. Whenever being abroad, I felt much more home than in my original home country - this is probably the main reason why I keep fleeing Germany :) Every foreign culture I've been temporarily part of has taught me some life-changing values that I always tried to integrate as good as possible into my life (feel free to ask me about some good stories) Culture-wise, my favourite places so far are Mexico and Bali! Last but not least: I LOVE FOOD! Just recently I started to live on a plant-based diet and exploring all of what it has to offer has become a real passion of mine. Now I would love to take it to the next level and learn how to cook all sorts of vegan dishes in order to amaze my friends and family - please help me with that mission if you can! I’m also that kind of person who already thinks of lunch while having breakfast and I would always choose a relaxed day of cooking and hanging with friends over anything else. BY THE WAY: I’m always the one cleaning up because I have this weird need for doing it :D - so you don’t have to worry about messy rooms :) MY REFERENCES Since I'm new to couchsurfing, I don't have any reference to show yet so I thought I'd put the link to my Airbnb profile where I already collected some - https://www.airbnb.de/users/show/19125871

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While traveling the world, I've made the best experiences when staying as authentic and local as possible. I’ve also discovered such experiences to be extremely mind-opening and inspiring because you get to meet such outstanding personalities!
Since my current mission is to find my true calling, I hope to get the chance to meet as many inspiring people as possible :)

Unfortunately, I cannot offer other couchsurfers a place to stay yet, but I will definitely make up for this as soon as I found a place that I can call my home :)
Nevertheless, I will do everything within my power to find you a place to stay (with my family or friends) if you wish to visit Germany while I’m still traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC There is actually no type of music that I would run away from (except for folk music and 90ties songs), but I prefer to listen to indie music like Red Hot Chili Peppers, relaxed coffee house, accoustic covers and everything that lifts me up and spreads a good mood just like Jack Johnson vibes. And what really gets me goose bumps is listening to my girlfriend singing! hope that you get to enjoy it one day too :) MOVIES Above all, I'm much more of a movie and series person. I especially love movies or series that use characters I can easily identify myself with (like Phil in Modern Family, Ross in Friends or Doug in King of Queens). Thanks to my best friend I became a huge fan of the series "Friends" and I find it a lot of fun to make film references to daily incidents. BOOKS I also learned to love reading since I discovered that books are a great source of inspiration. Mostly I get books that tell about inspiring personalities or non-fictional stories just as “The subtle art of not giving a fuck” written by Mark Manson (I really needed to read this!), “Time for Change" written by Yanis Varoufakis and “The Virgin Way” written by Sir Richard Branson who by the way is my secret role model.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once met a buddhist monk in Cambodia who invited me and my girlfriend to his monastery where he gave us his blessing. Since then we've become quite good friends and I can't wait to get the chance to see him again.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH
I'm a bloody optimist and against many skeptics I believe that every single person has the right and the power to pursue and live their dream.
I love to help people discover their motivation to change something to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

LEARN
Currently I'm learning to play the guitar so that one day I will be able to accompany my girlfriend who is a breathtaking singer.
Also, I want to improve my vegan cooking skills so if you have a great recipe that you'd like to share with me let's please have a cooking session! — I'll take care of the ingredients & the after-cooking clean-up ;)
Apart from that I generally love to do and learn stuff I've never done or even heard about before - so please let me know about your free time activities and I'll be keen to join!

SHARE
Actually I can share almost everything I know or own since I'm a huge fan of a working sharing culture (warning: except for food :D - if there is too little food on the table, I might turn into a savage animal fighting for survival)
Furthermore, I’m a quite good team member for any kind of ball, board and card games

What I Can Share with Hosts

My optimism, good mood in the mornings and a doing mentality that lets me tackle any chore that has to be done in and around your home :)
