About Me
ABOUT ME
I am simple person who is very easy to get along with. I enjoy good food and drink, and all the conversation that comes with a nice meal. That means I also enjoy cooking, or trying to cook at least. I tend to be a bit long-winded, but this makes up for my love for quiet and silence. Sometimes, I feel as content with silence as I do with good conversation. By keeping myself on a very busy schedule, I keep my mind off of the tough things in life. There is too much to tell here. Ask any of my friends and they can better tell you about me than I can.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in living life simply, yet keeping things adventurous. I try to live a low-impact lifestyle so that others can enjoy the same beauty that I have had the opportunity of experiencing. I cannot stand commercialism, or anything that goes along with it. I find joy through the happiness of others. If I can help someone else, in even the slightest way, then I have succeeded with that person. I believe the small moments in life are the really important ones to hold on to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since my friends have become couchsurfers, I could not imagine a better way to travel. One of my goals through travel is to learn about the culture that exists outside my little world here in Boston. As a normal tourist, I can't really experience the world, but as a couchsurfer, I can share in everything I and those that host me have to offer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am hoping my upcoming trip to Finland will be a very positive first couchsurfing experience. My friends have told fantastic stories about their travels through couchsurfing. I hope to create similar strong memories, and to meet some good people along the way. Perhaps I can open people's minds a bit along the way.
Interests
Bicycle touring, bicycle racing, hiking, rock climbing, waterfalls, rope swings, mountains, meeting new people, good beer, good laughs, baseball, the ocean, skiing, good books, maps, fruit, the open road, the solitude of the woods, farms, small towns, quiet city streets in the middle of the night....the list could go on forever.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Anything by Dr Seuss, the Giver by Lois Lowry, and anything about cycling or the outdoors. I prefer non-fiction stories about adventures people have had.
Movies: Snatch, Secondhand Lions, American Beauty, Good Will Hunting, Boondock Saints, The Sandlot, Field of Dreams, Man on Fire, Rain Man, Bull Durham, Top Gun, Eternal Sunshine, Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, The Terminal, Grease
Music: I like to let the radio scan until I find something that matches my mood. I enjoy pretty much anything except Rap/HipHop.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Won the North American Wife Carrying Championship in 2007, and making it on SportsCenter.
