I'm a hard working mother who has raised two kids alone and now that they are finally grown up, I have some time for myself. I intend to enjoy it to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I personally don't have much experience, but my daughter is a couchsurfing extraordinaire. I have just returned from the trip of my life in Europe! I successfully surfed with several fine hosts. I cannot say enough about how well this system works. My experiences far surpassed any regular "tour group" I may have tried. With Couchsurfing, I actually felt like I was part of families, close friends and truly felt the culture of each city I visited. Bravo Couchsurfing and I hope to host many surfers real soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed my first couple of couches after meeting my daughter in Europe. It's my first time traveling abroad and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I want to help travelers here in my home area. If you are missing your "Mom's home cooking," contact me! I can help you enjoy the comforts of home while you are traveling. I would also love to show you around the area and tell you what sights to see, good restaurants to try and perhaps the things you may never expect to be fun to do!

Interests

I'm a huge sports fan!! Tennis, baseball, american football, I love it all!! I love american football as much as I love soccer. My dream is to witness a world cup final. My daughter got me into experimenting in the kitchen, she learns so many amazing recipes in her travels. I am an avid cat lover!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like dramatic movies, if they have a happy ending it's even better :) When it comes to books, I really enjoy John Grisham and Robert Ludlum. I like listening to alternative rock music, Maroon 5 is one of my favorites. I just finished reading Homer's Odyssey, a true story about a blind cat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been on the "cutting edge" of nursing as it has advanced to the level of robotics. I am still excited to go to work every day! As for amazing things I have seen, my first trip to finally experience the world with my couchsurfing daughter brings me to Rome. I am in awe of historical buildings...Need I say more?

Teach, Learn, Share

As a surgical nurse for the past 40 years, I've witnessed incredible technological advances in the medical field. I would love to see and share how nurses in other countries practice that which I have never grown tired of. I am eager to witness the cultural differences, as well as similarities, of my profession that are practiced elsewhere.
