About Me
hey everyone. my name is reiner - I live in Dresden now and have been living here for quite some time now, but am actually from near Münster, in Western Germany.
I am a medical doctor and work in a hospital. Because of that, often I have to work nights and weekends. So it might be possible that I'm not available due to work but thats always different. I like to talk alot, read good books or meet my friends. In my free time I am still attempting to learn farsi (but struggling a lot as I'm not as disciplined as I would liek to be :))
So a very special welcome to anyone from Iran and Afghanistan, I'd be very happy to host you if I can ;-) We have recently managed to cook a fairly decent Fesenjoon with our farsi class - so maybe cooking is something we could try together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel just as much as I like to meet people from abroad, thats why I joined CS. Recently I was lucky enough to travel through Iran and using CS, we met many nice and welcoming locals who shared with us their views, food and sometimes their flat. It was such a good experience that I've decided to become active on CS again once more by meeting couchsurfers in Dresden and hosting when I'm able to...
Interests
I really like practising medicine and learning more about it every day. Apart from that I like to do bike tours, preferably with a tent, hiking in the alps or anywhere else, go sailing, travelling to my friends, read good books or the newspaper, meeting nice people and cooking for them or with them.

Travelling through Iran - what an amazing country.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am now trying to learn farsi because of our recent trip to Iran which was amazing. I've learned a little bit before and was amazed how with just 50 words, we could have quite a good conversation with the locals!
