Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Let's be more imaginative on how to live!
ABOUT ME
I prefer knowing a place by knowing person, see how s/he lives and sees his/her country as well as other things. For me, it's the best way to get to know another culture. That's why I'm not much into sights-seeing. SO I EXPECT WE CAN SPEND SOME TIME TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS, ON THE CONDITION THAT I RESPECT YOUR FREE TIME AVAILALBE. After all, CS is not (merely) about free accommodation.
I can manage myself well during my stay. Don't worry, you don't need to babysit me :) IF POSSIBLE I'D LOVE TO EXPERIENCE YOUR COOKING AT LEAST ONCE, TO GET TO KNOW YOUR WAY OF EATING (I'M BASICALLY A VEGETARIAN and CANNOT drink alcohol). I'LL ASK FOR SHARING FOOD COST AND DOING DISHES. I try to be as flexible as possible when I travel, so I may write to you in the last second... But usually I write to you at least twice: first one for showing my interest in surfing your couch, second one one day before I arrive.
For practical things: it'd be great if you can tell me whether I can use your kitchen and internet. I've a sleeping bag but not mattress.
My trip started almost 2 years ago. Out of my expectation, I spent 3/4 of my time in Taiwan. In a traditional sense I was no longer a traveller when I was in Taiwan, but I did travel in other senses. Studying magic, improving my Mandarin, making new friends, falling in love, falling out love, having an appenticeship, etc..I came there with a backpack, after 1.5 yrs I needed a huge suitcase to place (most of) my stuff. I was both living and travelling there. By the way, shouldn't it be nice to live as if to travel, or vice versa?
For some reasons, I got a ticket to Europe and that is valid for 6 months. So I picked up my backpack again and travel. No plan at all, I don't like planning as long as I don't absolute need. I'm now in Stockholm, Sweden (Sept 2006), and need to leave no later than Jan 2007 at Athens. Just travel with the flow, mainly in the Eastern part of Europe. Hope to see more and understand more of this part of world - with patience, being open and obserative.
PHILOSOPHY
Too board. But one thing has been keeping in my mind is: how to fall out love? So many stories/songs are about falling in love romantically, but on falling out love are always in a sad/depressing tone. Is it possible to see falling out love in a different way?
By the way, I'm gay. That just a part of my life and it's an important part. I say it here just in case there is any homophobic guest/host. I'm NOT looking for a date at CS.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Movie: Happy Together by Wong Ka Wai
Books: Too many and too few
Music: Anything not too loud. I'm not knowledgable on music.
I take music as a life marker - those songs one listened to/loved in a particular time work as a marker, to remind one how s/he was in the particular time.
The same goes for books and movies.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Decided to stop working and left my home-country.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Share: view and meaning on travelling, comparing our cultural differences
Share: magic. It's all about believing in miracle and imagination. But when I'm on the road I don't have much chance to practice to maintain performance level. I'll do magic when I'm a host.
Learn: sounds vague, but anything valuable. I think I'm always eager to learn from people, books, etc.
Länder, die ich besucht habe
Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Sweden
Länder, in denen ich gelebt habe
