I'm a photojournalist by trade, blogger by night and baker by hobby. I live for peanut butter, red wine, sundresses, presidential facts and board game nights. I live with my high school sweetheart, Tyler, and our cat, Teddy Roosevelt, in northern Italy, where I communicate almost exclusively in “ciaos” and names of cheeses.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couch surfed often when I lived in Denmark while in college and also a bit in the U.S. — my home turf! I've made long-lasting friendships through the site and have kept in touch with former hosts as they've gotten married and had children of their own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I witnessed a whale hunt in the Faroe Islands while I was there. I photographed the hunt and then enjoyed a whale meat feast with my couchsurfing hosts! Hint: it tastes like fishy beef
