ABOUT ME

I like to think I am outgoing and fun to be with, but I think most people think I'm like a sarcastic grandmom, but that's only because I work with 4 year old children all day. However, I do enjoy the occasional Broadway play/musical, antique shopping, medical dramas, colonial furniture, and playing the piano, so I admit I am a bit mother-like. I also love clubs and dancing, something more age-appropriate, and I listen to (hopefully) normal music, like Gavin DeGraw, James Morrison, and Usher.

PHILOSOPHY

It's really corny, but...I live for my students. I want to grow old watching them learn and succeed, hopefully improving their quality of life as well as many others. That, for me, means everything.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Living in England for 4 months showed me that I love meeting foreigners, so I want to host and meet foreigner travelers, as well as be hosted as a foreign traveler. I want to see the world, but on a teacher's salary this can be difficult at times. The best perk of CS2 for me was how it's cheap, easy, and intimate because the best way to see and understand a culture is to know people in it!

I can teach surfers how to hip-hop (urban dance) and knit, but not at the same time. I want to learn how to drive a manual car, and how to swing dance.
