Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Over the years I've hosted and been hosted by some amazing surfers from Tobago, Cartagena, Toronto, and Italy and more. While my living situation doesn't allow me to host too often, I can for the right time/person/situation.

Started CS experience in Tobago and it's been a wonderful journey since then.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Toni Morrison and magical realism. Music, anything goes, though I have a special spot for soca. Love dancing, and am a steady member of my local contact improv community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taj Mahal, Japanese toilets, people, people people. For me traveling is almost ALWAYS made by the people whom you encounter, not the sites seen. Also the food eaten. Hiking to the top of Roraima in Venezuela was also amazing. I imagine the moon looks something like what we saw up there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think it's better to teach in person than over the internet. love to teach people new recipes and vice versa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

COVID update: I currently live in a very small apartment, so I can only host one person at a time on my couch or an air mattress I have. Currently only willing to host people who can show me they are fully vaccinated and are not arriving to New Orleans by plane. Mostly looking to host women, non-binary folks and/or queers, but open to anyone if the time/space is right. I work 6 hours/day M-F so will likely have some time to hang and show you around! Prefer to host people who are looking to connect.

Pre-COVID I was getting >10 requests a week, so I’ll try to respond to all but may not get to them all. Please share something interesting about yourself!
