One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing really surprises me that much. I'm a pretty well balance type of guy. My roommates call me Zen :) A few weeks ago, on my way to an exam, I got hit by a car, or more so a car got hit by me. So, this car decided to make a left turn into on comic traffic and stop in the middle of the road, eyeing a parking space. Me, biking down a huge mountain here in Manoa, Hawaii, ran direct into the side of her car. Now I had to be traveling about 30 mph when I crashed landed into the side of her decision making process. Busted up my lip, wrecked my $1200 bike, slam my face into her wind shield of her " Oh my god!" face.

That same day, my next door neighbor attacked my dog, ripping a $1500 hole in his ear. The total amount which the bill came too after I had to rush my dog to the ER Pet Hospital. Where there kept him for almost a week. This dog that sleeps with me every night, his presence needed exceptionally that night after experience a near death experience. But, he was not there! And there I was, laying across my bed, face bruised and emotions shattered, home alone with no dog panting for affection in my ear, incense burning, Wah chanting in the background; and all I can think about is what an amazing day. Calm the entire time through out the series of unfortunate events. Reflecting on life and the overall enjoyment it has brought me. Meditating forging the lady for her mistake, and also being grateful that the outcome with my dog could have been much worse that that what it was. (Labrador vs Pit)

The next day, the confused lady whom hit me, called and showed her remorse by replacing my bike. I was grateful and thanked her for her kindness. She apologize and I made peace with her. The following day, the next door neighbor whom I never really interacted with before, came over and brought a bag full of doggie treats. She apologized, paid the entire vet bill and I made a new, now really good friend. Life works in many different ways, bringing people together under the strangest circumstances, but it works! And it is enjoyable as long as you keep a calm mind, body, and soul. I am grateful for my life and the lesson I am learning with each second that passes. Live in the moment and don't forget to breathe. :)
