About Me

Hey friends!
I'm an educator and freelance writer currently based out of Oakland, CA. I consider myself a pretty laid-back and open-minded fellow. At this time in my life, I'm trying to scratch a very serious wanderlust, and to increase my empathy and connection to the world at large by traveling as much as possible, with a marked orientation towards stepping out of my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I took time off from a really wonderful job in order to travel & explore interests unavailable whilst tethered to a nine-to-five. At the moment, I'm planning a SE Asia trip (India, Burma, Nepal, Thailand) that will hopefully eventually land me back in my homeland of New Zealand.

Interests

I can talk books, music, and media endlessly. I love playing with people, either in any game format, or just via playful adventuring through life. I love hiking and exploring beautiful spaces, and feel at best when I'm out in nature - and thankfully, my summer job has trained me in all sorts of survivalist and naturalist skills.

Teach, Learn, Share

In addition to helping show you around & plan your local travels, I'm happy to share any survivalist/naturalist skills that I'm proficient in, or to teach you some games that you can play that don't require any materials other than people, or at worst a pen & paper.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to share food & booze, as well as any skills I know not listed above, stories, experiences, laughter, games,.
